So, i was going to pop the hood of my car to put in some windshield wiper fluid and the plastic piece that you pull to release the hood completely snapped off. Of course i was livid. I hate it when things go wrong with my car. Anyways, i took it to Auto Zone to see if they could offer me some advice, they didn't have any parts i would need in stock. But the gentlemen at the counter told me if i get a set of pliers i can grab the exposed cable and pull and my hood should pop right open. Well, it didn't work. I have searched and searched the internet for possible solutions. But im thinking im going to have to take her back to the dealership to get fixed. Has anyone else experienced this issue with this make and model? Also any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

There is no reason why if you pull the cable on the dash with a pair of pliers the hook does not release. Try asking a friend to push down hard on the hood near the front where the release mechanism is while you are pulling the cable. The hood should release and an adjustment should take care of your problem after you replace the cable. This cable is normally a dealer item so be prepared to pay a few extra bucks.

The trunks and hoods of Chrysler tend to have problems from the hood release buttons to the hood support cylinders. and this is for most Chrysler cars.
