We have a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica with 44,000 miles that we bought used from a non Chrysler dealer, does any one know if the factory power-train warranty still apply to us even though we are not original owners??
Thanks

Generally, the warranty follows the car. There were changes year by year in the Chrysler and Dodge warranty programs so you'll have the check with a dealer or call Chrysler customer service (1-800-CHRYSLER). There may be a charge (about $150) to transfer the warranty to you.

For the extended powertrain warranty (7 years, 70k miles), it can be transferred to the second owner for a fee of $150, if it's done within 30 days of purchase date. You can do this at any dealership, not sure if you can do it by calling Chrysler directly or not, never heard of anyone doing it that way so I don't know.
If not transferred or if you're the third or higher owner, it goes to the basic warranty, which was 3 years, 36k miles.
The vehicle will still have the Federal Emissions Warranty (8 years, 80k miles) for items such as the catalytic converter and specific other emission related items (California emissions warranty is different).
If you're having problems, and it's out of warranty, you can still ask if they'll help you with it. The answer may be no, but it certainly never hurts to ask.

There are certain parts that are warrantied such as body perforation (rust) for 100,000 miles and possible some warranties on safety features. However, there is only certain other warranties available for used car owners and they apply only to those people who transfer the warranty from the previous owner to themselves at the time of purchase. You will have to check with a dealer to see what is left of your warranty.

It should. We have purchased several low mileage used Chryslers. The warranty always transferred to us.
